Morgan

  • Morgan has slept from about 9pm until 7am for the last 3 nights! All last week he was going from 9pm until 5am. I thought that was good, which it was, but 7am is even better. I am not counting on this continuing, but I will take what I can get.
  • He is smiling interactively and he has the cutest little half smile. : )
  • I got out his playgym today. He likes looking up at the toys and he hit them although I don't think it was intentional.
  • He is liking his pacifier and swing now.
  • His fussiness seems to have vanished now that it is half-term and I have a week off of class.

Happy Birthday to Me!

We had my birthday celebration yesterday. We got a babysitter for the 3 older boys and Caleb and I took off for the day with our tiny tag-along. We went to Bangor to do some shopping. Caleb and I haven't been anywhere in the car together since Morgan was born. It was fun. lol! (We don't all fit in our car anymore so "going to town" means...I drive the boys in the car and Caleb rides his bike.)

We really didn't do anything special, just walked around and poked in some shops. But we enjoyed spending time *almost* by ourselves. We were able to hold hands while we walked because we didn't have two other little people's hands to hold. We were able to have intelligent conversation because we didn't have little boys who think it is more important to talk about their birthdays and monsters in the kitchen. :)

I spent my birthday money on socks. You know you are getting old when you are happy about birthday socks! lol! I am also going to get some of those ultra stylish Crocs just because they are so comfy.

After Caleb picked up the boys. Seth came into the living room with his hand behind his back and told me that he had gotten me something for my birthday. With great excitement and a look of satisfaction on his face he showed me....a little toy car. lol! The Treharnes had taken them to Bangor. They bought me chocolate and an azalea plant and then took the boys to a charity shop so they could "pick something out for mom". Seth picked that car and Jason picked a little 4-wheeler. Paul got a teddy. lol! Too cute!

Then Morgan gave me the best gift. He slept through the night...9pm to 7am! Woo! Hoo! Of course, Jason was up at 4am. Oh well, guess I can't have everything!

Things I can't wait for...

...my 10 week class to be over. 5 days a week 6 hours a day is too much after just having a baby and having 4 boys 4 years and under at home. I am worn out by the end of the day and certainly don't want to do any of the housework that still needs doing. I knew it would be a lot, but I needed to take the class.

...Seth, Jason and Paul to adjust to Morgan's birth. Seth and Jason are very trying...clingy, whiny, disobedient, ect. They were also waking up in the night, but that has finally stopped. Paul is starting to come back around. He has dealt with Morgan's appearance by ignoring Morgan and me...becoming a daddy's boy. Now he will come to me to be held or will love on Morgan and give him blankets. Things are slowly coming back together.

...to not be wearing maternity clothes. I am really working on eating healthy so I can drop some of this baby weight. I am ready to not look pregnant anymore. : )

...to figure out what is making Morgan fussy. As of Monday I'm not eating dairy, beans or broccoli. I don't know what more to cut out because it isn't gas that is causing the problem. His belly is actually upset. The other day his burps smelled like rotten eggs. It was so gross! I'm not sure how long it is suppose to be before the dietary changes will help, but I hope it is soon. He spends most of the evening just crying and crying. He is good in the morning, in the afternoon he can't settle down...wants to be held, bounced, rocked, ect. In the evening he cries and then he sleeps from about 10pm waking up once...maybe twice to eat. Then we start it all over again the next day. Yippee.

Precious

My Precious Paul

He was such a wonderfully sweet baby. He changed so quickly after Morgan was born. He grew up overnight. Poof! My baby was gone and here I have a toddler. I honestly miss him being my baby, but I'm glad he can at least be my little boy.

Catching Some Air

I was surprised to see these pictures of Seth and Jason on the trampoline. I had no idea they could go so high now. They were not the last time I saw them jumping. So here are a few pictures to impress you with their skills. : )

Don't ask me about Jason's outfit...I was not home. That was all Caleb's doing. lol!

Baby Blessing

Morgan has gotten really fussy lately. I must be eating something he doesn't like, but I haven't figured out what it is yet. He wants to be held constantly, which is fine during the week at my class, but at home during the weekend the other boys want my attention too. I am glad Caleb is here to share the load.

Today some ladies in a nearby church gave me a "Baby Blessing". It was really fun to get together with them. Since Morgan doesn't need anything they gave me a 50.00 gift certificate to a beauty parlor. I could get a hair cut, manicure, pedicure, massage, facial....Oh! The choices! One thing I know I will do is get my eyebrows done. I have never done that before, but have heard good things about it.

I read the book "Curly Girl" and have followed it's advice for the last month and here are the results.

Before...

After...

You can see I am in need of a hair cut, but that is not what I am pointing out. lol! The advice is to not use shampoo just conditioner and no hairbrush. I have always said my hair is at it's nicest just before I washed it once a week. It would then take about 5 days to recover from the washing. Without the shampoo it doesn't frizz or poof and as you can see it curls. The color hasn't changed that is just lighting. I hardly used a brush as it was because I already knew that was a frizz guarantee. I am really happy with the new look. I never thought I could be poof-free.

I can't wait to get my hair trimmed....definitely doing that too.

Welsh Class

My Welsh class started Monday. Oh, it is so tiring! And so far I have come home with a headache each night. Morgan is the star of the class. He has been an angel! I do get very tired of EVERYBODY looking at me though. They are really looking at Morgan, but since I am usually holding him I get included in their sweet smiles. I hope the novelty of having a baby in class will wear off soon. :)

There are 12 students and we have a different tutor each day. I was surprised to find another Dawn in the class. And guess where she spent 5 of her summers? I will just tell you, because you will never guess. lol! Honesdale, Pennsylvania! ...not far from where I grew up. What a small world!

Caleb is having a fun time with the boys at home. They are responding to Mommy's absence by being ultra whinny and crabby. It has been a long week for all of us. Caleb has been playing with his camera some while I have been away. It is nice to come home to see great pictures of the boys.
