Assessments

I took Paul for his 2 year assessment and Morgan for his 7-9 month assessment this morning. Paul weighs less then I thought. According to our scale 2 months ago he weighed 3-4 more pounds then he does now and Morgan has actually lost 1.5 oz since his last check-up 6 weeks ago. The health visitor (pediatrician) didn't say much about it just that she wants to weigh him again in a months time.

Paul is a little behind as far as knowing his animals and their sounds or his body parts. He just doesn't care where is knees are or what a dog says! lol! He also doesn't put 2 words together to make a sentence yet, but considering that he just recently started saying anything at all I think he is doing very well. His vocabulary, in both English and Welsh, is increasing every day. His newest achievement is jumping, which he thinks is a pretty cool thing to do.

The only things asked about that Morgan is not doing is sitting on his own or saying "dada" or something similar. He is up to speed on everything else.

Growth percentages according to this percentile calculator:

Paul at 24 months:

your child is 26 pounds, and that is
at the 24th percentile for weight.

your child is 33.25 inches, and that is
at the 18th percentile for height

Morgan at 7 months:

your child is 18.6 pounds, and that is
at the 42th percentile for weight.

your child is 28 inches, and that is
at the 72th percentile for height

The only concern I have about these two is that Paul doesn't like Morgan. Really, he doesn't. Not a bit. He doesn't want anything to do with him. Paul is also mean to Morgan.
For example:
  • He will take Morgan's toys and throw them across the room just so Morgan can not have them.
  • If Morgan is crawling to him, Paul will push him away.
  • Paul will try to crowd Morgan out when being held by either Caleb or me.
  • AND heaven forbid Morgan touch him! THAT is just unacceptable!
He has no warm tender feelings for his little brother...at least none that we can see.

Seth and Jason are inseparable as playmates and I want that for Paul and Morgan. They are 17 months apart and so are perfect for being play buddies. Morgan loves Paul in spite of his mistreatment. So Paul just needs to get over his jealousy and realize what a great little guy Morgan really is.

I'll be praying for your little guys. Autumn has the jealousy, she says "Nobody thinks I'm cute anymore" Last week Cody was crying and I was on the phone, so she went in and bit him! She is a big helper when its just us, but when we're at a church or with family she is OVERLY helpful! I wouldn't worry about the yougest being behind. I've heard the youngest usually is, becuase he has the older brothers to do everything for him! He'll catch up before you know and be wishing he was a baby again! Cody was 2 months yesterday. I can't believe it!

Awww...I hope your littlest ones become best buds soon! I'm sure they will. Great stats too! I love those chubblicious, exclusively-nursed babies...such a success to a nursing mommy!

Paul is still so young, just a baby himself really. I'm sure they will soon be buddies.

The two that aren't so close now may surprise you and be the closest in the long run.

Awwe, poor Morgan. I'll be praying for Paul and Morgan both. Hope doesn't know her animal sounds either or all her body parts. She knows dogs bark and she makes her own sound for that,oh so cute!! But that's just because we recently got our own puppy. And she knows nose and is learning mouth, but she really isn't that interested either. They'll get it when they're ready.
