Mold, anyone?

Last Sunday we went to church in Llanfairfechan. Never again! We've been paying for it all week. There was black mold in the Sunday School room. All of us except Morgan were in that room and all of us except Morgan have been sick all week.

By Sunday night Paul was walking through the house crying and wailing. Nothing could make him happy. I felt so bad for him. He has had a fever for five days. Poor little guy! He has lost weight too...at least 4lbs.

Jason and Paul both have personality problems after being around mold. It makes our happy child, Paul, miserable. And it makes our semi-happy child, Jason, a little terror. It has been a rough week. They still are not back to normal, but since their health is improving I'm sure their personalities will follow.

We have been having all sorts of health problems for a while now. Then a few weeks ago we found black mold in our upstairs bathroom under the tub from a leak we didn't know about. We cleaned up all we could see and have been keeping the door shut and staying out of there as much as possible.

Things were improving. Paul's rash went away. We saw a happy, pleasant Jason, who we haven't seen in forever. I wasn't even sure he existed, but he does! He was here at our house for about a week!

Last week's mold episode sent us back to square one...

a rotten place to be.

Today's Adventure

The weather was very nice today. So we took the boys over to Glynllifon Park so they could burn off some energy.

Except Morgan. He was lazing about in the stroller.

There was a bit of the stream that was shallow so we let Seth and Jason play in it.

Jason still got wet. He went deeper then his boots could handle.

But they were enjoying themselves and it wasn't too cold so we let them have their fun.

Beautiful baby.

Tired out,

and heading home.

A New Car

Today all of us, except Seth, went to England to pick up a new (to us) car. The best thing about it...It's a SEVEN seater! We all fit in it! :) It will be so nice to go to church or shopping together without Caleb riding his bike and meeting us there.

After we strapped in our four car seats, Seth noticed that there was one empty spot. He said ... Is God going to pick us out another baby to sit there? ... HaHa!

It was a long day of traveling. Reminded me of how glad I am that Jason was not 3 years old when we were on deputation. He would have driven us CRAZY!!! He settled down about halfway there, but he sure was antsie when we first started out.

We found a garage in England to take the other car off our hands. So we didn't have to pay for petrol getting it back home when we weren't planning on keeping it anyhow. And I didn't have to drive back, which I wouldn't have cared for. I so glad that God provided for us to be able to get a larger vehicle.

I told Caleb it is the wrong color. All of our "good" vehicles have been some shade of red. The new one is green. But hopefully I will be proven wrong and this one will last us a good long time without any problems.

I will try to post some pictures over the weekend. Our laptop is on holiday in the states with all my picture editing programs. Caleb just put a new program on this computer for me, but I don't know how to use it yet. I have loads of great pictures to post too so check back soon.

Child Labor

I decided to start off the new year with enforcing Child Labor Laws in our household. The children must labor! I have given Seth and Jason jobs. :) Now before you start feeling sorry for my poor over-worked children I will let you know that they have good benefits and free room and board. :P

Jason's job is to unload the dishwasher. I have moved all of our dishes to the lower cabinets so he can put them away. Now anyone who actually knows Jason must think I have lost my mind to even let him near the dishes. But I read somewhere about children learning to be more careful with things because they have things they need to be careful with...giving them responsibilities makes them more responsible and all that. Well...so far so good. We haven't had any broken dishes and he loves to help. Although he was getting a little too much enjoyment out of putting up the sharp knives so we put those away before we let him at it.

Seth's jobs are to feed Nepoleon and to load the dishwasher. Nepoleon must be fed before Seth can eat breakfast, but he is doing a great job of remembering without being told. :) Loading the dishwasher takes a bit of supervision, but he is getting the hang of it. He thinks it is awesome that he can put the soap in and push the start button. He is so proud to be really helping and we often hear him say, "But what about my dishes?".

Next I think I will get them putting the laundry away. And then cleaning the bathrooms and vacuuming and dusting... Oooh! This will be so exciting!
